How the agent creates value

CHS described a process that has already moved from roughly 12 people to 6, but still requires approximately 180 ordering-plan edits per week. The Intel Agent is designed to reduce the manual burden of gathering information, evaluating market changes, modeling cross-product impacts, and rebuilding the plan.

Planning capacity: At 180 edits per week, a 10-minute reduction in manual effort per edit represents approximately 1,560 hours of annual capacity. More importantly, the team can react faster to tariffs, supplier changes, scarcity, demand signals, and pricing movements.

The procurement sensitivity is modeled separately. If improved market intelligence and purchasing timing reduce effective acquisition cost on an addressable portion of chemical spend by even a small percentage, the financial impact can be material. This should remain an illustrative opportunity until CHS validates annual spend and measurable purchasing performance.

Additional value

  • Faster response to changing market conditions
  • Evidence-backed recommendations
  • Cross-product planning rather than isolated edits
  • Recommendation and approval traceability

How to interpret staffing value

The 6-to-3 scenario does not require eliminating positions. Equivalent economic value can come from redeployment, avoided hiring, or increased planning capacity.

Illustrative business-case model only. Procurement savings depend on actual CHS spend, market movements, supplier terms, timing, and adoption. The agent does not guarantee chemical-price predictions or savings.
